Ethos & Values

We are determined to sustain improvement through the development of all members of the academy.

Our key values – Ambition, Respect, Responsibility and Pride – have been developed through participation of students, staff, governors, parents and community representatives. We work hard to promote these values and make them real and relevant in the daily lives of all academy members. They underpin all aspects of our work and relationships at Armthorpe Academy.

We insist upon a relentless focus upon excellence in learning and achievement, supported by ambitious expectations. Our aim is to maximise individual potential and ensure that all young people invest in their learning and are well equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life.

We believe that every member of the school community matters, and we are entirely committed to the provision of a safe, caring, inclusive and supportive environment. Respect for the individual, parity of esteem and celebration of success at all levels are given the highest priority.

We expect every academy member to demonstrate a sense of responsibility for his or her own:

  • academic / professional development,
  • personal and social development and progress,
  • attitudes and behaviour,
  • as well as the aspirations, performance and success of the academy.

We want our community to see us as a thriving, optimistic and forward looking academy to which all members are proud to contribute and belong.

Just had a great day talking Careers Strategy with @rebeccawhyles at @ArmthorpeDN3 There's nothing quite like walking around a school and actually seeing the impact of all the hard work our Careers Leaders have been putting in over the last year! #CELP

Good luck to all of our Y11 and Y10 students sitting GCSE exams this week! Your hard work will pay off 👍

Looking forward to welcoming back all of our staff and students tomorrow!

Will you achieve 💯% attendance this half term?
