From 6th–15th March 2026, our KS3 students took part in a range of engaging activities to celebrate British Science Week. This year's theme, "Curiosity", encouraged students to ask questions, explore new ideas and think critically about the world around them.
Year 7 students investigated ecosystems and debated whether wolves should be reintroduced into the Scottish Highlands, considering the impact on food webs and biodiversity. Year 8 explored the role of machine learning in everyday life, discussing which tasks should, and should not , be trusted to technology. Meanwhile, Year 9 learned how information is stored on magnetic materials, using binary code to encode and decode messages through a hands-on activity.

The activities encouraged students to think critically, ask questions and explore how science and technology influence the world around them. It was fantastic to see students embracing the theme of curiosity and engaging enthusiastically throughout the week.
