Personal Development
Our PSHE curriculum and Wider Personal Developemt offer at Armthorpe Academy equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand more about how to play a positive and successful role within our society, both as a child and as an adult.
Our intention is to provide students with a knowledge of their world, locally, nationally and globally and give them confidence to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up within this. We aim to provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about acting socially responsible, rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Our curriculum provides comprehensive, unbiased and correct information, it is age-appropriate and builds on learning and knowledge each year.
To further support the curriculum, we have implemented a wider Personal Development offer through a themeatic Form time and Assembly program which allows pupils to build on and revisit skills that are essential for life beyond Armthorpe but also take an active part in learning and debating about current affairs.
