Doncaster school installs environmentally friendly juice machines!

Armthorpe Academy has installed new machines which see students using refillable bottles

Armthorpe has installed new juice machines that enable students to get their drinks using a reusable bottle, rather than using plastic cups and bottles each time they buy a drink.

Students buy special tokens for the juice machines and then fill up with their own bottle, thereby reducing waste.

Headteacher at Armthorpe Academy, David Bisley, said: “We are enjoying the new juice machines at our academy and students have been very positive about this idea.

“As an academy, we are mindful of sustainability and are keen to play our part in helping to reduce excess plastic waste.”

Catering manager for Consilium Academies, Kay Slater, said: “At Consilium Academies, we are very pleased to reduce, recycle and reuse wherever we can.

“These new juice machines at Armthorpe Academy are helping the school to play an active role in reducing single-use plastics and we hope to extend the scheme further within our academy trust.”
