World Pi Day
On Thursday, 14 March, we celebrated Pi Day ("π") (3.14) with all things circles, maths and the other kind of pie!
The Maths department invited pupils to take part in a number of activities to celebrate the mathematical day, this ranged from memorising Pi to the highest number of digits. The current record is 54 and the deadline for our competition is Friday 22nd March.
Pupils also enjoyed creating a drama performance around Pi where our Y10 drama class all collaborated to create a performance around Pi. Whilst in food technology throughout the day, they produced all types of pies which were given as a reward to their favourite teachers at the end of the day.
Mr Booth said: “It has been great to see so many students and staff try their hand at our Pi Day activities and learn a bit more about the infinite number at the same time.
